Heart of Stone

He built his dreams with fire and steel,   Through sweat and pain, through grit and will.   His path was carved with silent nights,   A war he waged beyond the sights.   But love, so sweet, so soft, so near,   Whispered dreams into his ear.   A choice was placed upon his chest—   His passion’s flame, or love’s request.   He turned away from burning light,   Held her close, embraced the night.   Yet soon he found, to his dismay,   Both love and purpose slipped away.   For goals demand a heart of stone,   And love still longs to call its own.   To chase one means to lose the fight,   To hold both tight is rarest might.   So walk the road with eyes aware,   Choose with wisdom, choose with care.   For once you drop what makes you whole,   You lose the fire—and lose your soul.

Broken Promises

I built a home with walls of care,
A fragile dream, a love to share.
Yet through the cracks, a shadow crept,
A secret kept while I had wept.

Her smile, once pure, began to wane,
A whispering wind, a growing pain.
I asked the stars, "What did I miss?"
A heart once whole now torn from bliss.

Five times the blade cut through my chest,
Each time she swore it was the last.
A map of scars I came to wear,
A testament to love laid bare.

Yet still, forgiveness found its way,
Through gritted teeth, through nights and day.
For though her vows she could not keep,
I chose my soul, not hate, to steep.

Now in the mirror, strength I see,
The man who rose, who set love free.
For even as she walked away,
I claimed my peace, my brighter day.
