Unseen
I gave all my hours to a distant sun,
Chasing warmth that never came,
Breathing life into spaces where I didn’t belong,
Hoping my voice might carry my name.
I reshaped myself to fit unseen lines,
Bent and folded to meet unknown designs,
Poured kindness into cups left empty by choice,
But never became the echo they’d rejoice.
Efforts drift like mist through unfeeling air,
Lost to the winds, as if never there.
Yet somewhere, in shadows unseen, waits a place
Where the light finds me, without need to chase.
There, I’ll rest as I am, untangled and free,
Knowing some shores are just meant for the sea.
