Heart of Stone

He built his dreams with fire and steel,   Through sweat and pain, through grit and will.   His path was carved with silent nights,   A war he waged beyond the sights.   But love, so sweet, so soft, so near,   Whispered dreams into his ear.   A choice was placed upon his chest—   His passion’s flame, or love’s request.   He turned away from burning light,   Held her close, embraced the night.   Yet soon he found, to his dismay,   Both love and purpose slipped away.   For goals demand a heart of stone,   And love still longs to call its own.   To chase one means to lose the fight,   To hold both tight is rarest might.   So walk the road with eyes aware,   Choose with wisdom, choose with care.   For once you drop what makes you whole,   You lose the fire—and lose your soul.

The Weight of Negativity

They say I am too negative,
But they don't see the weight I bear,
A heart bruised by shadows past,
Eyes dimmed by a world unfair.

Each step I take is heavy,
With memories I can't release,
And though I long for lighter days,
The pain gives no reprieve.

They tell me to look for the light,
But my vision's blurred by scars,
I once reached for the stars above,
Now I expect the fall, not stars.

It's not that I don’t want to change,
Or crave the warmth of sun,
But when your world is shaped by pain,
You fear the worst will come.

So I carry this weight in silence,
A victim of wounds they can't see,
Perhaps I am more than negative,
Perhaps this pain is just part of me.
