The Price is Paid

Romans 3:20 points me to the cross, I see the debt was laid,
A burden none could bear, yet none could evade.
“For the wages of sin is death,” (Romans 6:23) so true,
But Christ took our place—He died for me and you.
“He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree,” (1 Peter 2:24)
So through His wounds, we find life, we are set free.

No one can keep the law, for “all have sinned,” (Romans 3:23)
Yet His grace abounds, though we fail again and again.
“For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point,” (James 2:10)
Cannot escape the guilt, yet there is hope to anoint.
“Christ is the end of the law for righteousness,” (Romans 10:4)
His death on the cross became our blessedness.

When your conscience cries loudly, when guilt whispers shame,
“There is now no condemnation for those in Christ’s name.” (Romans 8:1)
Though your heart may condemn you, look to the Word,
“For Christ gave His life as a ransom,” (Matthew 20:28) just as you’ve heard.
“By His will, we are sanctified through His sacrifice,” (Hebrews 10:10)
No more payment is needed, His love will suffice.

So when darkness encircles, when hope seems to cease,
“Truly, truly I say, whoever believes has eternal peace.” (John 5:24)
Let not the weight of sin drive you to despair,
For Christ has borne it all; He’s answered every prayer.
“For God so loved the world, He gave His only Son,” (John 3:16-17)
No more need for punishment; victory is won.

You are loved, you are precious, to God you belong,
Your life is His treasure, your heart is His song.
Let His Word be your comfort, His promise your stay,
“I came to give life, and life in full,” (John 10:10) today.
Turn back from the brink, look to Christ, and believe,
The price has been paid—eternal life you’ll receive.
