Heart of Stone

He built his dreams with fire and steel,   Through sweat and pain, through grit and will.   His path was carved with silent nights,   A war he waged beyond the sights.   But love, so sweet, so soft, so near,   Whispered dreams into his ear.   A choice was placed upon his chest—   His passion’s flame, or love’s request.   He turned away from burning light,   Held her close, embraced the night.   Yet soon he found, to his dismay,   Both love and purpose slipped away.   For goals demand a heart of stone,   And love still longs to call its own.   To chase one means to lose the fight,   To hold both tight is rarest might.   So walk the road with eyes aware,   Choose with wisdom, choose with care.   For once you drop what makes you whole,   You lose the fire—and lose your soul.

First Time!

A whispered truth, a guiding light,
"There's a first time for everything," it might
Be whispered by a friend so kind,
Or echo in the restless mind.

The first step taken, wobbly, slow,
A world unfolds, where wonders grow.
The first word spoken, soft and new,
A bridge is built, of me and you.

The first bike ride, with wobbly wheels,
The wind a song, joy that it reveals.
The first heartbreak, a tear that falls,
A lesson learned, through darkened halls.

The first love found, a tender spark,
A beating heart that leaves its mark.
There's fear, there's doubt, a chance to take,
For in that first step, dreams awake.

So hold on tight, as life unfolds,
Embrace the new, the stories told.
There's a first time for everything, you see,
And in those starts, our futures lie free.
