Heart of Stone

He built his dreams with fire and steel,   Through sweat and pain, through grit and will.   His path was carved with silent nights,   A war he waged beyond the sights.   But love, so sweet, so soft, so near,   Whispered dreams into his ear.   A choice was placed upon his chest—   His passion’s flame, or love’s request.   He turned away from burning light,   Held her close, embraced the night.   Yet soon he found, to his dismay,   Both love and purpose slipped away.   For goals demand a heart of stone,   And love still longs to call its own.   To chase one means to lose the fight,   To hold both tight is rarest might.   So walk the road with eyes aware,   Choose with wisdom, choose with care.   For once you drop what makes you whole,   You lose the fire—and lose your soul.

Digo Road

Pockets may pinch, and debts may loom,
A heavy weight that casts a gloom.
But yesterday, on bustling Digo Road,
A different kind of burden showed.

A sight that stopped me, made me stare,
A soul who bore a weight to bear.
No legs they had, to run or roam,
Just wheels that carried them back home.

And in that instant, clear and bright,
My troubles seemed to lose their might.
For though my wallet's thin and bare,
I have two legs, a sturdy pair.

A gift I took for granted, see,
The power to walk, to move so free.
To chase the dreams that fill my head,
With every step, a path I tread.

This doesn't mean my woes depart,
But opens up a grateful heart.
For even when the way is rough,
I'll keep on walking, that's enough.
