Heart of Stone

He built his dreams with fire and steel,   Through sweat and pain, through grit and will.   His path was carved with silent nights,   A war he waged beyond the sights.   But love, so sweet, so soft, so near,   Whispered dreams into his ear.   A choice was placed upon his chest—   His passion’s flame, or love’s request.   He turned away from burning light,   Held her close, embraced the night.   Yet soon he found, to his dismay,   Both love and purpose slipped away.   For goals demand a heart of stone,   And love still longs to call its own.   To chase one means to lose the fight,   To hold both tight is rarest might.   So walk the road with eyes aware,   Choose with wisdom, choose with care.   For once you drop what makes you whole,   You lose the fire—and lose your soul.

Odongo

In the shadows of wisdom, Odongo stands tall,
His mentor's words, a guiding call.
"Seek not in words, but in deeds displayed,
If they lack your desires, let their voices fade.

In the quietude, he hears the sage's decree,
"If they lack the substance, let them be free."
Odongo listens, a steadfast heart,
To the mentor's wisdom, a priceless art.

"If dreams elude in the words they convey,
Forge your own path, let them not sway."
A mantra woven in the mentor's speech,
Odongo absorbs the lessons, soul within reach.

Through life's symphony, he strides along,
Discerning truth in the mentor's song.
"If they lack the essence of your yearning fire,
Silence their echoes, let your dreams inspire."

Odongo, a pupil of time and strife,
Gleans from the mentor the essence of life.
In the echoes of wisdom, a resilient cue,
To navigate dreams, steadfast and true.
