Heart of Stone

He built his dreams with fire and steel,   Through sweat and pain, through grit and will.   His path was carved with silent nights,   A war he waged beyond the sights.   But love, so sweet, so soft, so near,   Whispered dreams into his ear.   A choice was placed upon his chest—   His passion’s flame, or love’s request.   He turned away from burning light,   Held her close, embraced the night.   Yet soon he found, to his dismay,   Both love and purpose slipped away.   For goals demand a heart of stone,   And love still longs to call its own.   To chase one means to lose the fight,   To hold both tight is rarest might.   So walk the road with eyes aware,   Choose with wisdom, choose with care.   For once you drop what makes you whole,   You lose the fire—and lose your soul.

Kinyugo

In the shadows, Kinyugo stood,
Truth's bearer in a world of wood,
His words sharp, cutting through the air,
Revealing depths that none would dare.

But as he spoke, the silence grew,
In eyes averted, fear it drew,
For truth's embrace, too raw, too real,
Unveiled the wounds that none could heal.

People, they sought their soothing lies,
A tranquil mask, beneath which lies
The comfort of a dream so sweet,
Where truth's jagged edges can't compete.

Kinyugo, with burdened heart,
Watched as they chose to drift apart,
From honesty's unyielding grip,
Into the safety of falsehood's ship.

The night, it fell, and he could see,
The weariness in their eyes, yet free
From the turmoil that truth could bring,
In a world that prefers the song to sing.

So, he whispered in the fading light,
For those who'd listen in the night,
Embracing truth's unforgiving roar,
Knowing some crave it, even more.
